We can continue having our tax dollars spent on something that hurts our city and public resource in many ways, or we can keep those tax dollars here for things that do provide services, while experiencing neverending benefits to the whole community as a result.
The remaining visual history of Cedarburg's founders is in the beautiful mill buildings they built, not in the harmful, expensive and obsolete dams that cause so much damage to our environment and economy.
Are these non-historic dams worth the reduction of real services? Are they worth the hindrance of local economic growth? Are the dams worth the pain of telling our kids they can't play in their own river? Please ask the Cedarburg common council to weigh the benefits of removing the dams and restoring the river, against the cost and harm the dams cause.
